2008 New Year's Resolutions

Weeeee... Soon, in less than 7 hours, it will be time for us to bid 2007 goodbye and welcome 2008! =D

I still remember how my primary school classmates and I, including our teachers, used to always write the wrong year in our homeworks during the beginning of the year. LOLz. I wonder do you peepz experience the same too?

Anywayz, this is my first time writing New Year's resolutions. And I'm pretty sure I'm gonna come out with lots of stupid and boring stuffs, so please do bear with me (but not bare with me) first yea before I can come out with better ones next year. =P

Here we go!

  1. Take more pictures and blog more often so that I can do a nice recapitulation next year.
  2. Lose at least 10 kg and rebuild my abdominal muscles.
  3. Continue my recently picked up momentum in practising guitar.
  4. Learn as much as I can about photography, and that includes image editing.
  5. Most importantly, excel in my studies.
  6. Improve the relationship between me and my family members.
  7. Be more sociable by discovering more about myself.
  8. And lastly, have a stable long distance relationship with him, problemless.
Alright. I guess this should be enough. Eight resolutions for the year 2008. May I take them seriously for the coming 366 days. =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008~!!!

Christmas Countdown in Alor Star

Weeeee... How was your Christmas this year, people? =D

For me, I chose to stay in my hometown and enjoy the moments remained here instead of going elsewhere more happening. Hehe.

Christmas Eve 01

I went to a cafe called "Oh!! Yeah" on Christmas Eve as my friends - Uglyboyz, students of Michael from Uglymen were performing there.

Christmas Eve 02

Christmas Eve 03

They originally consist of four members, but one couldn't make it that night, thus leaving only three of them. Nevertheless, their overall performance was not bad!

Christmas Eve 04
On drums, Ng Kae Vin a.k.a. kiwiisfruit

Christmas Eve 05
On bass, Mok Kai Juin a.k.a. stupid ppl

Christmas Eve 06
On guitar & vocals, Tan Chin Sing a.k.a. werty yuipo

After the party, my dear bought me a birthday cake and we had a small celebration there too.

So, yepz, that's roughly about it lar. Although mine was simple and quiet, but at least I felt happy. =)

Besides, I definitely don't want such a beautiful festival of mine to end up like this:

Merry Cheesemas!

And happy birthday to me... =P

Pre-Departure Preparation to Australia

Time really flies. Sigh. Only 1 month and 13 days left before I leave for Australia. *sobs*

Just for your information. The University of Newcastle is the place where I will be spending most of my next two years at in Australia. It is located in Callaghan, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. When being asked by most of my friends who have no idea where is it, my answer will always be "near Sydney lor". Haha.

Location of Newcastle (Source: Wikipedia)

Anywayz, results are out, on the 9th of December. I was on my way to a shopping mall in Kuching when my coursemate Val suddenly called me and I immediately knew what was it about without her needing to say anything. Haha. Thanks again Val, not forgetting those who messaged me too, and also to you-know-who-you-are for being there with me at that particular moment. =) Overall, I think I am quite satisfied with my results for my second semester despite all the unexpected things that happened to me during my exam period. Congratz to everyone who has successfully made it through to the third semester too!

Exam Results for Semester 2 - 2007

Upon receiving my eCoE (electronic Confirmation of Enrolment) via email on the 13th of December, I then proceeded to complete my electronic visa application online which costs me AUD430 and make an appointment with the Penang X-ray Specialist Klinik to do my medical and chest x-ray examinations as soon as possible.

Right after I returned to my hometown from holiday on the 17th of December, I then went to Penang with my dear on the next day and met up with my coursemate Kok Loong at the clinic to do our checkup together. We were first asked to collect our urine in a small bottle, the rest was then carried out separately in different rooms. During my chest x-ray examination, I was asked to remove my upper part clothing completely but luckily was provided with a hospital gown to wear. Phew. I felt very uneasy but was glad that the procedure and the waiting after that didn't take me too long. After that, did an eye test, height and weight were measured, and had a photo taken on the spot.

When I thought being half naked just now was terrible enough, next, I was asked to remove my trousers too! Gosh. With only panties plus the thin and short hospital gown provided on, I laid on the bed uncomfortably but pretended to be very natural while being examined by a male doctor and witnessed by a female nurse. *inserts red face here* My total bill costs me RM150 whereas Kok Loong who was asked to have an extra lateral view chest x-ray was charged RM200.

Before I left, the doctor told me that he will process and email my report directly to the immigration department on the evening itself. I didn't bother much until I received an email three days later on the 21st of December saying that my electronic visa application has already been approved. Woah. Really efficient.

So now, I'm very glad that the most important stuff has been settled. But damn, my application for on-campus accommodation was rejected, not sure what happened but all of us who applied got rejected together. We seriously can't do anything but to start seeking for off-campus accommodation ourselves now. Sigh. Till then, hope everything goes well on everyone's side lar. =)

New blog header!

Arlo peepz! =D

I'm finally back at my home sweet home. Weeeee...

While waiting for the always slow me to update, I proudly present you my new blog header, designed by the one and only smashin' pOpstar. LOLz. This is one of the prizes I won from the smashpOp Pimps YOU! 3rd edition contest few months ago.

New

To be really frank lar, I prefer my old blog header. =) Although the new one looks much better as it's professionally designed, but I think the old one is able to represent my personality more. Too bad smashpOp doesn't accept request, still, thanks very much oh smashpOp! Hehe.

Old

Till then, before more updates to be followed up, my body needs a recharge first yea. Buh bye~

This is driving me crazy...

ARGHHHHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!!!!

I really can't stand the wait anymore. I really don't want to see this anymore.

I've been logging in to The University of Newcastle's Online Services days and nights since the 1st of December, but until today, after freaking me in and out and in and out each time while waiting for the page to load, all I got was only this.

ARGHHHHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!!!!

Please please please please please. Anyone from School of Biomedical Sciences (February 2007) who is reading this, please do inform me by sending a message immediately to my mobile phone (preferably my DiGi number) once our results are out. Can can can can can?

I'm leaving to Sarawak tomorrow, and will be in Selangor from the 12th to 17th, thus internet access is not something I can have from time to time for these coming critical days or weeks. Your help will be greatly appreciated, I thank you in advance.

*Seok Kheng continues to pack her luggage, and continues to pray for the best for everyone*

A stable Streamyx finally!

So yepz. My first mission after I returned back to my hometown was to find out what was wrong with my house internet connection.

We had been facing disconnection problem very very often especially during raining days. This problem lasted for, err, at least two years, I think, because my super patient dad always believe that it was just another common Streamyx problem in our area and didn't bother to do anything about it. Haha. That's my dad! =)

Anywayz, since this time I'm gonna be staying at home for around two months before I leave for Australia, I don't think I can tolerate this frustrating disconnection problem anymore. So, the trying-to-act-smart me then decided to troubleshoot it with the help of my best friend - Google Search. Hehe. Also, special thanks to Min Yuan and Kok Loong for helping me out with the initial steps to kick start the whole procedure.

Modem 01

I realised that my modem DSL light kept blinking but there wasn't any crackling on my phone line. I tried playing around with the internet connection settings using my very limited knowledge, but still, again and again, I faced disappointments. =(

I gave up at last and called Streamyx hotline at 1300-88-9515. The phone receptionist was surprisingly friendly and didn't treat me like an idiot (although I think I really sounded like one as I was unsure about a lot of things he asked because my dad was the one who kept all these informations) despite all the complains I've seen online. The technician came surprisingly early too on that evening itself when I was expecting TMNet to send one maybe earliest on the next day.

He checked my house internet connection using a modem he brought and told me that my line was perfectly stable. We then concluded that it was mostly due to my modem problem. He asked me to bring it back to my modem vendor but again, I didn't know whom my dad bought it from. So, since my sister and I had planned earlier to install a wireless router in my house, I then went out immediately after a short survey online and came home buying a new wireless router modem.

Modem 02
Linksys WAG200G - RM260

After messing around with it for more than an hour (yes, I know I'm a noobz, that's why I need much longer time, hehe), again with the help of my best friend - Google Search, finally I managed to successfully configure my home wireless network! And until today since the 21st of November, my family members and I did not face any drop in our connection at all. It only happened once when the connection went dead and it was easily solved by restarting the modem. Weeeee...

Modem 03

P/S: I can't believe I can actually type such a long entry when I'm actually feeling dead sick at the moment. ='( Few days left to go to Sarawak, must be strong!
