Two Old Old Eggs

Sigh. Time really flies. January is soon coming to an end in just a blink of an eye when I can still feel the heat of making New Year's resolutions around the blogosphere.

How was your start of 2008?

Two Old Old Eggs
My first photography outing on the 25th of November, 2007.

I personally do not feel that January gives 2008 a good start. We first welcomed the year by spreading rumor about the rise of petrol price in Malaysia. On the political side, we had the sex scandal of Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek which eventually caused him to resign from all his posts. Also, not forgetting the man who can't seem to recognise his own self, senior lawyer Datuk V.K. Lingam's case. On the other hand, Heath Ledger from Brokeback Mountain was found dead suddenly on the 22nd of January in his apartment. *mourns* And the latest one I read about, is again another sex scandal, this time involving famous Hong Kong artist Edison Chen with Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan and Cecilia Cheung. =S

Lastly, this is regarding a car crash happened recently which killed 3 lives on the 25th of January near Slim River in Perak. The Bus Crash No More blog has been set up to collect signatures for a petition so that necessary actions can be taken by the authorities to ensure us safer long distance bus rides. Do your part now by submitting your name and email address here! Or else, next time, it could be you or me.

P/S: Talking about New Year's resolutions, I've failed my most important one... ='(

Airport Prank

AirAsia delays again? Nothing to do at the airport? Next time try this! LOLz.

KL Trip - Day 4: Eat! Eat! Eat!

Arlo peepz! How was your weekend? Mine was a really tiring but exciting one shooting the Gong Xi Fa Cai Carnival 2008 which was held for 3 days in my hometown. Photos will be uploaded soon after I am done with my current KL Trip entries. Weeeee... =P

So, on the 6th of January, Stephanie and I woke up around lunch time, then I suggested to go to Asia Cafe again as I really missed that place a lot.

Asia Cafe 01

I wandered around the hawker stalls for a very long time to decide what to eat and I felt like ordering almost everything there. LOLz. In the end, I ended up with these:

Asia Cafe 02
Barli limau ais satu! Mine.

Asia Cafe 03
Char siew siew gai fan yat gor! Mine.

Asia Cafe 04
Uncle BoB's chicken popcorn one set! Stephanie's.

Asia Cafe 05
锅贴小的!Ours.

After eating, we then took a taxi to Sunway Pyramid. We walked and shopped and walked and shopped until our legs got tired. I suggested to go have a snack at Carl's Jr. in Pyramid 2.

Carl's Jr. 01

Carl's Jr. 02

The reason I went there was because of its Beef Chilli Cheese Fries (and also its bottomless drink lar). I remembered it tasted very nice when I last tried it with Hwei Ming and Yvonne. But sadly, they made it too salty this time. =S

Carl's Jr. 03

After recharging ourselves, we then continued our activities and without realising it, it was getting late. So we went to J.CO before we left as I wanted to buy some back to my hometown.

J.CO 01
As usual, loooooooooong queue...

J.CO 02

J.CO 03

J.CO 04

And finally!

J.CO 05
2 Glazzy, 3 Don Mochino, 3 Miss Green T, 2 Heaven Berry, 2 Tira Miss U

I arrived safely in my hometown Alor Star at Terminal Bas Shahab Perdana around 3:00 AM the next morning, carrying a box of donuts filled with love and care. =)

P/S: Hooray! This marks the end of my KL Trip entries. LOLz. I wanted to split this into 3 posts initially but I can't wait anymore to finish them. Haha.

Karnival Gong Xi Fa Cai 2008

Whoo... I just came back from the Gong Xi Fa Cai Carnival 2008 held in the dead city of Alor Star, Kedah. Seriously, this is my first time seeing soooooooooo many people, I mean, soooooooooo many Chinese out there in my hometown. Wow! Sipek lao juak! =D

Gong Xi Fa Cai Carnival 2008 01

Sadly, I didn't get to take many nice shots today (yesterday?) due to the limitations of my kit lens. Hopefully, tomorrow (today?) and the day after tomorrow (tomorrow?), I am able to produce better products. Hehe.

P/S: Screw my yesterday, today and tomorrow thingy. XD

So yepz. To those who are currently in Alor Star or anywhere nearby, this carnival will last 3 days from the 25th to 27th of January, 2008. The main road of Jalan Putra will be closed from 5:00 PM onwards specially for this carnival. Please do feel free to click here for a list of programmes happening at 1 out of the 3 stages built for this carnival. Come one, come all! =D

It's late, I mean, early now. I have friends coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur later around 9:00 AM to perform in this carnival tonight. Ciaoz first! Weeeee...

KL Trip - Day 3: Before F.I.R.'s Showcase...

We wanted to go to the outdoor theme park on the 5th of January morning but we canceled our plan as we didn't have the mood for the rides.

I woke up around 6:30 AM having a backache after struggling to sleep on the sofa for the whole night. LOLz. Went down with Minyi to First World Cafe to have our complimentary buffet breakfast which was kinda disappointing. Continued to sleep after that on the very comfortable bed before we finally checked out at 12:00 PM.

We had lunch at McDonald's, then watched The Warlords at First World Cineplex. And when we came out, it was time for F.I.R.'s Showcase! Weeeee...

F.I.R. Queue

P/S: Hopefully, I will get to end my KL Trip entries by tomorrow night. Whoo... You not sien, I also sien liao! =P

KL Trip - Day 2: Free Upgrade?

After stuffing our stomachs to the maximum, we then proceeded to First World Hotel lobby to check in. I've earlier booked a Deluxe View Room online at RM119 per night.

But upon arriving at the counter...

Receptionist: We... Bla... Your room... Bla bla... Charge... Bla bla bla...
I: Huh?! Sorry. Can you please repeat?
Receptionist: We have upgraded your room from Deluxe View Room to World Club Room without charge.
I: How come?
Receptionist: Err... Cause there is not enough room.
I: And just now you mentioned without charge. That means we don't have to pay right?
Receptionist: Yea.
I: So we are lucky lar?
Receptionist: *smiles and nods*
I: Oo... Tell earlier mar. I thought what happened.

So, happily, we carried our luggages, to 27th floor, room 815. Weeeee...

My dinner tonight...

Carlsberg
Cheerz!

New look!

Whoopz. I didn't expect myself to change this fast. Haha. My first one lasted more than a year but why is it that my second one only lasted less than 3 months. =S

Oh well. I'm talking about my desktop background lar.

Fender Telecaster on FIREEEEE~!!!!!

Sorry to disappoint you if you are expecting to see something Chinese-New-Year-ish. LOLz.

Also, I've just installed a new Firefox theme which goes great with my Windows XP Zune theme. Weeeee...

KL Trip - Day 2: Buffet Dinner at Coffee Terrace

So I woke up the next morning, to find that Stephanie has already gone to school. So I continued to sleep until the afternoon, since I was locked in her room. =P

We, the A-levels buddies, then started our journey to Genting around 5:00 PM after buying some snacks at Jusco Giant in 1 Utama. It was raining very heavily. But thanks to Geowin and his trusted Honda CR-V, we reached the highland safely around 6:00 PM. Weeeee...

First thing to do? Fill our stomachs lar! LOLz.

Coffee Terrace 01

We went straight to Coffee Terrace located on the lobby floor of Genting Hotel. Paid RM54.05 per person, inclusive of 5% government tax and 10% service charge.

KL Trip - Day 1: SS15, Subang Jaya

Alrighty. So I guess it's finally about time for me to start posting about my trip in KL last week! =P

Departed around 9:15 AM from my hometown Alor Star on the 3rd of January, and arrived at Puduraya Station, Kuala Lumpur around 4:15 PM. Whoo... See, I told you, 7-hour bus ride!

But I guess it was all worthwhile to get to see your friends - Geowin, Kai Zun, Stephanie and Minyi were already there patiently waiting for you. I was so excited to see them that I even forgot to buy my bus ticket back to my hometown upon my arrival there at the bus terminal. Hehe. Got up Geowin's Honda CR-V, and off we went to Times Square!

Had lunch at 欢喜地茶餐厅, I was too hungry to snap pictures before we ate. LOLz. I did not eat anything at all mar since that morning cause I never like eating at those places the buses usually stop at. After that, walked around and talked crap until night time before Kai Zun dropped Stephanie and I back at Stephanie's place. Weeeee... The place I missed most - SS15, Subang Jaya. =)

KL Trip 01
The place where I spent my last two-and-a-half years at - Taylor's University College.

Then, I am sure this next place I went to after bathing and having a nice rest needs no introduction anymore to those of you who have been to SS15 before. Hehe.

KL Trip 02
Asia Cafe! The most happening food court in Malaysia? Citation needed. LOLz.

Met up with my best yum cha buddy, Blue. He's currently single and available. Anyone wants his contact? =D

KL Trip 03
他是懒惰的漫画创作人,多余的临时演员,疯狂的吉他手哦……

Ordered my all-time favourite, fettucine carbonara. Oh, the sweet memories... =)

KL Trip 04
RM10 per plate if I'm not mistaken. Damn nice!

KL Trip 05
Blue snapped me snapping picture to send a MMS to someone. =P

So yepz. After that, I went back to Stephanie's place and had a very comfortable sleep. Thanks again oh Stephanie! And with that, my first day in KL ends here.

Buffet dinner at Genting, coming up next! =D

Barahineban, here I come!

This is a continuation post of my Pre-Departure Preparation to Australia post posted last month.

But damn, my application for on-campus accommodation was rejected, not sure what happened but all of us who applied got rejected together.

So, after many complaints from our parents (mine not included), our programme director from School of Biomedical Sciences at Taylor's University College then tried appealing for us to the University of Newcastle and finally on the 7th of January, most of my friends received their offers at Barahineban (the newest of the four residential colleges), but sadly, I did not receive any email. =(

Logo of Barahineban (Source: The University of Newcastle, Australia)

After going through many days of anxiousness and worriness as the date of arrival in Australia is really approaching, I couldn't do much besides constantly checking my email inbox from time to time. LOLz. Thanks to Ms. Ruth Gresham! At last, on the 11th of January morning, I received an email saying that I've gotten an offer at Barahineban! Weeeee... I was so excited that I started messaging to everyone who was worried for me throughout this period of time. Thanks again!

This is a single occupancy room, mine will be shared. (Source: The University of Newcastle, Australia)

I've just sent a hard copy of all the documents needed to Barahineban via Skynet yesterday. I hope by paying RM135 for it, everything will reach safely within 5 working days as promised. And I wish by then, all problems will be solved although Barahineban still did not reply an email I sent yesterday inquiring about something quite important. Sigh.

Looking forward to it! AUD101 per week. (Source: The University of Newcastle, Australia)

F.I.R.'s Showcase at Arena Of Stars, Genting Highlands

Weeeee... It's already 5:05 AM now and I'm finally done selecting, editing and uploading these photos to my Flickr account! =D

So yepz, as promised, these are some of the photos I've taken on the 5th of January at F.I.R.'s Showcase at Arena Of Stars, Genting Highlands. My first time using my Canon EOS 350D Digital with a kit lens to shoot a concert like this. Hehe. Any comment from you will be greatly appreciated!

The showcase was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM and I was already there with my A-levels buddies at 4:00 PM to realise that no one was actually there to start queuing yet. They scolded me for being such a lunatic fan but I denied by saying that I wanted to get the front seat so that I could take nicer shots to share on my blog! LOLz. =P So we went to Marrybrown nearby and I met up with members from the Malaysia F.I.R. Fans Club. At 6:00 PM, we then decided to go back to the outdoor theme park entrance and waited there. As a result, we got our seats in the third row, by which the first and second rows were reserved for the media! Weeeee...

F.I.R. @ Genting 01
An out-of-focus group shot of us from the Malaysia F.I.R. Fans Club. =(

My mood dropped totally to the bottom when I was told that the keyboardist, Ian a.k.a. 建宁老师 won't be coming along with them to Malaysia this trip. Sigh. ='( But thankfully, I didn't have to feel down for long as the vocalist, Faye a.k.a. 飞, and the guitarist, Real a.k.a. 阿沁, soon appeared on stage and hyped us up with the main title from their latest album 《爱。歌姬》, 月牙湾.

F.I.R. @ Genting 02

After the heat, this recently-engaged couple then sang their duet, 三个心愿. Sweet as usual. =)

F.I.R. @ Genting 04

Next song was one of my favourites from their latest album, Change. Totally in love with the feel of this song!

F.I.R. @ Genting 06

And finally, they ended their showcase with a huge blackout (?!) in the midst of their rock number, 第十行星. One of my favourites, too.

F.I.R. @ Genting 08

F.I.R. @ Genting 09

I didn't queue up for their autograph session after that as I thought it was meaningless without the presence of Ian a.k.a. 建宁老师. Sigh again. ='( Anywayz, still, I had fun! Thanks very much to my A-levels buddies - Geowin, Kai Zun, Stephanie and Minyi who accompanied me there. Weeeee...

The Nuffnang Glitterati

Bwahahaha. Has anyone noticed the changes in my blog? I've finally decided to become an exclusive Nuffnang blogger!

I wasn't a loyal one, but I am now one. =) Read here to find out why. Sorry Advertlets.

Monday, 7 January 2008

My blog is back, so am I!

Gosh. I was really shocked to see this when I entered my blog yesterday using my friend's computer. I thought my blog was hacked or something but I was too tired to do anything about it at that moment.

Advertlets.com Domain Issue

Now that I've just reached my home sweet home in Alor Star from Kuala Lumpur not long ago, I decided to go find out what is wrong with it before I can comfortably take a nice rest.

So, here is a summary of what I got from my Google Reader (since I'm still not able to access their official website), written by Josh Lim on behalf of all at Advertlets.com.

What happened?

A complication in the renewal process caused the Advertlets.com domain to expire, and caused issues for bloggers with our ads installed, which made their blogs redirect to a placeholder page. It was not our intent to do so. Advertlets.com blog users were unable to login to their Advertlets accounts and access the website as well.

What can I do to resolve the problem?

You can follow some troubleshooting steps listed at http://advertlets.blogspot.com, a site temporarily set up to assist in this issue. Or, you can remove your code for the time being, and we will notify you when it has been fully resolved.

Alright. I guess that's all for now lar since my problem has been solved. Need to go recharge myself fully first. Stay tuned for boring entries about my trip in KL! =P

Thursday, 3 January 2008

KL, I'm coming!

Weeeee...

I've just finished updating songs in my MP3 player, and I'm now all ready for a 7-hour bus ride from Alor Star down to Kuala Lumpur later! =D

Bus Ticket

LOLz. Why am I so excited? It's not like I seldom go there right. Hehe. Well, it's mainly because this trip is specially planned to meet my A-levels buddies for a reunion! Also, I'll be going to Genting this Saturday (5th January 2008) with them to catch F.I.R.'s showcase at Arena Of Stars!

Real, Faye, Ian (Source: Genting)

I'll most probably be back on the 7th, I think. LOLz. Till then, wait for my updates oh! =P

P/S: I'm gonna go shoot the showcase with a kit lens using my Canon EOS 350D. No money to buy telephoto lens, laugh at me lar. Kekeke.

First Post of the Year

Happy New Year 2008 again to everyone! May all of you have a blessed 366 days this year oh.

So how was your celebration last night? Mine was awesome! I went to the 2008 Countdown Street Party at Sungei Wang Plaza, got to see many local and foreign artists, crowded with various types of seafood there, also managed to catch the spectacular display of fireworks at 12:00 AM, through my television at home while resting on a cosy sofa. Kekeke. Thanks to 8TV!

Oh well. Screw my sarcasm. XD

I am still in my hometown lar, and I just came back from celebrating my friend's birthday at Damiral's Grill.

Damiral's Grill 01

We were the only two Capricorns in our class in secondary school back then, with him being the eldest starting the year on the 1st of January, and me being the youngest (PTS students excluded) ending the year on the 25th of December. LOLz.

Damiral's Grill 02
The birthday "man" and me. XD

Damiral's Grill 03

Anywayz, to my readers from Alor Star, I always recommend Damiral's Grill when my friends ask me to suggest them a romantic restaurant which serves good food at a reasonable price. It is located in Persiaran Sultan Abdul Hamid, Jalan Pegawai.

Damiral's Grill 04

Damiral's Grill 05

The downside of this restaurant is, the chef requires quite a while to prepare food. But I guess it is worth the wait!

Damiral's Grill 06
Chocolate Papermint Cooler - RM5.80
Mine! I'm a peppermint lover! Not sure why it's spelled papermint though.

Damiral's Grill 07
Oriental Chicken Chop - RM11.90
Hwei Whei's! Tasted ordinary lar.

Damiral's Grill 08
Sexy Girl By The Bar - RM13.90
Mine! I ordered this because of the name. Hehe. Those are fish and prawn by the way.

Damiral's Grill 09
Chicken Cordon Bleu - RM12.90

Damiral's Grill 10

And lastly, happy birthday again my friend, although it's already a belated one now. Hehe.
